Essential Functions of the Experiential Instructor:
- A minimum of 50% of working time will be spent providing individual and group instruction using experiential modalities.
- Recruit, develop, and maintain connections and resources in the community for the implementation of hands-on-learning opportunities for youth in the areas of outdoor exploration, teamwork, and community resources.
- Ensure up-to-date paper and electronic client records in compliance with program, county, state, and federal regulations and private grant requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years of experience working with adolescents.
- A BS/BA in human services or education, or an equivalent combination of experience in the field and education.
- A mature individual with the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of positive youth development in the independent living program.
- The Experiential Instructor will possess sound judgment and knowledge of adolescent development. The Experiential Instructor must maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate an agency vehicle.
- This individual will be organized and highly adept at managing multiple tasks and assignments. Successful team members are creative thinkers and flexible in their approaches to people and projects.
- They will never have been convicted of any prohibited criminal or child abuse offense.
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Able to climb in and out of the vehicle multiple times per day.
- Able to walk up and down stairs as necessary.
- Reach with hands and arms and sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk, working on a computer.
