Essential Functions of the Facilitator:
- Assist a Life Skills Instructor (LSI) in planning, organizing, developing, and facilitating group activities for the 15 week Fall and Spring class sessions.
- Develop positive relationships with students in the program while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Build a sense of community for program youth, and help other youth to create meaningful lives in the community.
- Lead open discussions and workshops on various subjects related to active listening, conflict resolution, and civil discourse.
- Arrive at school locations before class start time and prepare class materials before student arrival.
Minimum Qualifications of the Facilitator:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Shall be a mature individual who has successfully graduated from the SBLS program or has successfully participated in other Valley Youth House programing in York County.
- A valid driver's license, a motor vehicle report that meets agency requirements and reliable transportation that can safely transport clients if needed.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule that includes evenings.
- Ability to complete the pre-employment physical and drug test requirements.
Physical Requirements of the Facilitator:
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. X Occasionally
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds. X Occasionally
- Medium to heavy work requiring walking X Constantly
- Light work that includes stairs and narrow access points X Occasionally
- Light work that requires long distance driving X Occasionally
